HOUSE BILL NO. 4151

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO KENYA JAMES OF 1
WEBSTER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 3
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and 4
completely restored to Kenya James of Webster County, Mississippi, 5
who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her conviction 6
for the crime of Embezzlement in Webster County, on June 10, 2014, 7
for which she was sentenced to serve five (5) years probation 8
under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of 9
Corrections. 10
She was released on February 13, 2019. The Legislature is 11
informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding and 12
honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner. 13
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 14
and after its passage. 15
