AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF DESOTO COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CEASE PARTICIPATION IN DESOTO COUNTY CRIME STOPPERS, INC., AND TO CEASE THE LEVYING OF CERTAIN ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS FILED IN JUSTICE COURT FOR THE FUNDING OF DESOTO COUNTY CRIME STOPPERS, INC.; TO PROVIDE THAT THE LEVYING OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS SHALL BE USED TO FUND THE STATE CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM RATHER THAN DESOTO COUNTY CRIME STOPPERS, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

HOUSE BILL NO. 4169

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF DESOTO 1

COUNTY CRIME STOPPERS, INC.; TO PROVIDE THAT THE LEVYING OF 5
CERTAIN MUNICIPAL ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS SHALL BE USED TO FUND THE 6
STATE CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM RATHER THAN DESOTO COUNTY CRIME 7
STOPPERS, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 8
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 9
SECTION 1. Chapter 912, Local and Private Laws of 1993, is 10
amended as follows: 11
Section 1. (1) * * * The governing authorities of the 12
cities of Hernando, Olive Branch, Horn Lake and Southaven are 13
hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, by 14
resolution duly adopted and entered on the minutes of each 15
governing authority, to levy additional court costs in an amount 16
not to exceed One Dollar ($1.00) per case for each misdemeanor 17
filed in the municipal courts of such municipalities. 18
(2) The avails of any additional court costs imposed 19
pursuant to subsection (1) of this section shall be paid monthly 20
by each * * * municipality to * * * the State Crime Stoppers 21
