HOUSE BILL NO. 4180

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO LASONDRA BOWLING 1
OF RANKIN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 3
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and 4
completely restored to Lasondra Bowling of Rankin County, 5
Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her 6
conviction for the crime of Embezzlement on April 21, 2014, in 7
Rankin County, for which she was sentenced to serve five (5) years 8
in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections 9
followed by five (5) years on probation. Previously, on November 10
26, 2012, she was sentenced to serve five (5) years on probation 11
for the crime of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime in Rankin County. 12
On April 29, 2014, she was also sentenced for the crime of 13
Conspiracy to Commit a Crime for which she was sentenced to serve 14
two (2) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of 15
Corrections followed by three (3) years, nine (9) months and one 16
(1) day on probation. She was released to parole on December 7, 17
2015. 18

She was released to probation on October 10, 2017, and was 19
discharged from probation on May 26, 2020. The Legislature is 20
informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding and 21
honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner. 22
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 23
and after its passage. 24
