HOUSE BILL NO. 506

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SCENIC RIVERS 1
DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE FOR CERTAIN PROJECTS IN THE MEMBER COUNTIES 2
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Scenic Rivers Development 7
Alliance to assist in paying costs associated with the projects 8
described in Section 2 of this act for the fiscal year beginning 9
July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027............. $ 10,000,000.00 10
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by Section 1 of this act 11
shall be used by the Scenic Rivers Development Alliance for the 12
following projects: 13
(a) Site development and other facility development at 14
the Okhissa Lake Lodge and Conference Center in Franklin County, 15
Mississippi; and 16
(b) Site development; acquisition of facility 17
equipment; parking repairs and improvements; road repairs and 18

improvements; building repairs and improvements; river/lake 19
access; erosion control/repairs; utility improvements; trail 20
improvements; and other facility related upgrades in Franklin, 21
Walthall, Pike, Amite and Wilkinson Counties, Mississippi. 22
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 23
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 24
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 25
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 26
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 27
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 28
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 29
and after July 1, 2026. 30
