AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 9-5-49, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO 1
REMOVE LANGUAGE REGARDING LOCAL CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE MAINTENANCE 2
OF THE SIXTEENTH CHANCERY COURT DISTRICT; AND FOR RELATED 3
PURPOSES. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. Section 9-5-49, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 6
amended as follows: 7
[Until January 1, 2027, this section shall read as follows:] 8
9-5-49. * * * The Sixteenth Chancery Court District is 9
composed of the following counties: 10
(a) George County; 11
(b) Greene County; and 12
(c) Jackson County. 13

[From January 1, 2027, and until January 1, 2031, this 15
section shall read as follows:] 16
9-5-49. * * * The Sixteenth Chancery Court District is 17
composed of the following counties: 18
