BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 11
SECTION 1. Section 43-12-33, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 12
amended as follows: 13
43-12-33. The Department of Human Services * * * may 14
establish or use a * * * combination of reporting systems under 7 15
CFR Section 273.12(a)(5). The combination, including the extent 16
to which each reporting system is established and used, shall be 17
set by the department. The department shall provide a written 18
report by September 1 of each year to the Chairmen of the House 19
and Senate Appropriations Committees, the House Public Health and 20
Human Services Committee and the Senate Public Health and Welfare 21
Committee, and the House and Senate Medicaid Committees, on 22

the * * * rationale, application and effectiveness of using a 23
combined reporting system, including the effect, if any, on 24
enrollment in the SNAP program and the effect on the department's 25
"error rate" as calculated by the Food and Nutrition Service of 26
the United States Department of Agriculture. The report also 27
shall be provided to the other members of the Legislature upon 28
request. 29
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 30
and after its passage. 31
