AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 97-29-59, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, 1
TO REVISE THE UNNATURAL INTERCOURSE LAW TO REMOVE THE WORD 2
"MANKIND"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. Section 97-29-59, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 5
amended as follows: 6
97-29-59. Every person who shall be convicted of the 7
detestable and abominable crime against nature committed * * * 8
with a beast, shall be punished by imprisonment in the 9
Penitentiary for a term of not more than ten (10) years. 10
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 11
and after July 1, 2026. 12
