AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF 1
SHARKEY COUNTY TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
IMPLEMENTING BUSINESS RECOVERY ACTIVITIES, BEGINNING SITE 3
DEVELOPMENT FOR TWO PENDING BUSINESSES, AND ESTABLISHING BUSINESS 4
ATTRACTION AND RETENTION STRATEGIES TO ENCOURAGE NEW BUSINESS 5
DEVELOPMENT AND HELP EXISTING BUSINESSES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Supervisors of 10
Sharkey County, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs associated 11
with implementing business recovery activities, beginning site 12
development for two (2) pending businesses, and establishing 13
business attraction and retention strategies to encourage new 14
business development and help existing businesses struggling to 15
recover from reduced revenues and a shortage of employees 16
resulting from the effects of the 2023 tornado for the fiscal year 17
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027... $ 1,000,000.00. 18
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20

not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
