AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF 1
SHARKEY COUNTY TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2
IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT OF THE ESSENTIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLES OF 3
THE SHARKEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, REPLACEMENT OF THE 4
DEPARTMENT'S LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT AND RELOCATION OF THE 5
DEPARTMENT TO A NEW FACILITY FOR 911 OPERATIONS AND LAW 6
ENFORCEMENT FUNCTIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 7
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 8
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 9
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 10
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Supervisors of 11
Sharkey County, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs associated 12
with the immediate replacement of the essential law enforcement 13
vehicles of the Sharkey County Sheriff's Department, replacement 14
of the department's law enforcement equipment and relocation of 15
the department to a new facility for 911 operations and law 16
enforcement functions for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, 17
and ending June 30, 2027............................ $ 1,000,000.00 18
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20

not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
