AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF 1
SHARKEY COUNTY TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
ESTABLISHING A REGIONAL HOUSING RECOVERY STRATEGY WITH FEDERAL AND 3
STATE PARTNERS TO RESTORE HOUSING LEVELS TO THE STATUS BEFORE THE 4
2023 TORNADO AND PLANNING FOR THE DEMANDS OF WORKFORCE HOUSING 5
REQUIRED BY NEW BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Supervisors of 10
Sharkey County, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs associated 11
with establishing a regional housing recovery strategy with 12
federal and state partners to restore housing levels to the status 13
before the 2023 tornado and planning for the demands of workforce 14
housing required by new business and industry for the fiscal year 15
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. 16

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 18
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 19
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 20

Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 21
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 22
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 23
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 24
and after July 1, 2026. 25
