HOUSE BILL NO. 805

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BELZONI HUMPHREYS 1
DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING REPAIRS AND 2
RESTORATION WORK AT THE CATFISH MUSEUM AND DEPOT THEATER IN THE 3
CITY OF BELZONI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Belzoni Humphreys 8
Development Foundation to assist in paying costs associated with 9
repairs and restoration work at the Catfish Museum, a city-owned 10
facility, and the attached Depot Theater in the City of Belzoni, 11
which repairs and restoration work are necessary to enable the 12
attractions to reopen to the public, for the fiscal year beginning 13
July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.............. $ 200,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
