HOUSE BILL NO. 82

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF 1
MISSISSIPPI MEDICAL CENTER FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING 122 2
SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE RURAL PHYSICIANS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE 3
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the University of Mississippi 8
Medical Center for the purpose of funding one hundred twenty-two 9
(122) scholarships in the Rural Physicians Scholarship Program for 10
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.. 11

SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 13
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury 14
to the credit of the Education Enhancement Fund not otherwise 15
appropriated, to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for 16
the purpose of funding one hundred twenty-two (122) scholarships 17
in the Rural Physicians Scholarship Program for the fiscal year 18
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027...... $ 669,040.00 19

ST: Appropration; UMMC for scholarships in the
Rural Physicians Scholarship Program.
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 20
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper funds not 21
otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal 22
Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or her 23
warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 24
officers in the manner provided by law. 25
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 26
and after July 1, 2026. 27
