HOUSE BILL NO. 83

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF 1
HEALTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING AND OPERATING AN OBSTETRICS 2
(OB) SYSTEM OF CARE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the State Department of Health 7
for the purpose of implementing and operating an Obstetrics (OB) 8
System of Care to standardize and regionalize maternal and infant 9
care, improve transfer systems designating levels of care and 10
expedite transfers to appropriate facilities for the fiscal year 11
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027...... $ 500,000.00 12
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 13
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 14
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 15
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 16
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 17
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 18
