HOUSE BILL NO. 953

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE RURAL FIRE TRUCK FUND 1
FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS FOR AN ADDITIONAL ROUND OF FIRE 2
TRUCKS FOR COUNTIES AND MUNICIPALITIES UNDER THE RURAL FIRE TRUCK 3
ACQUISITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Rural Fire Truck Fund 8
created in Section 17-23-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, for the 9
purpose of providing funds for an additional round of fire trucks 10
for counties and municipalities under the Rural Fire Truck 11
Acquisition Assistance Program for the fiscal year beginning July 12
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027..................$ 4,000,000.00. 13
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 14
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 15
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 16
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his 17
warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 18
officers in the manner provided by law. 19
