A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE WARREN CENTRAL HIGH 1
SCHOOL VIKINGS FOOTBALL TEAM UPON WINNING THE 2025 MISSISSIPPI 2
HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS 6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. 3
WHEREAS, the Warren Central High School Vikings Football 4
Team, representing Warren Central High School of Vicksburg, 5
Mississippi, achieved extraordinary success during the 2025 season 6
by capturing the Mississippi High School Activities Association 7
(MHSAA) Class 6A State Football Championship; and 8
WHEREAS, on December 5, 2025, the Warren Central Vikings 9
delivered a commanding performance at Davis Wade Stadium in 10
Starkville to defeat the Hattiesburg High School Tigers by a final 11
score of 56–34 to secure the Class 6A title; and 12
WHEREAS, the Vikings overcame a halftime tie and unleashed a 13
dominant second-half performance to outscore the opposition and 14
claim their first state championship in 31 years, marking the 15
program's third overall MHSAA Class 6A state football title, 16
having previously secured championships in 1988 and 1994; and 17

WHEREAS, the Vikings demonstrated exceptional athletic 18
excellence, amassing nearly 500 total yards of offense, including 19
a powerful rushing attack and explosive plays through the air, 20
showcasing the depth, skill and teamwork of the student-athletes 21
throughout the season; and 22
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Head Coach Josh Morgan, 23
whose strategic vision and commitment to character development 24
guided the team throughout the season, the players exhibited 25
resilience, discipline and unity in pursuit of excellence; and 26
WHEREAS, the championship season also sparked widespread 27
community celebration, with the Vikings honored with the key to 28
the city in recognition of their historic achievement and 29
exemplary representation of Warren Central High School and the 30
Vicksburg community; and 31
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize 32
and commend outstanding achievements by student-athletes who bring 33
honor to their schools, their communities and the State of 34
Mississippi: 35
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 36
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING 37
THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the Warren Central High School 38
Vikings Football Team for their outstanding 2025 season and their 39
well-deserved MHSAA Class 6A State Championship, and extend best 40
wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors. 41
