HEAD COACH BENJY PARKER ON THEIR SUCCESSFUL 2025 SEASON AND 3
VICTORY IN THE MISSISSIPPI ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES 4
CONFERENCE (MACCC) CHAMPIONSHIP. 5
WHEREAS, the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers 6
Football Team, a powerhouse program under the phenomenal 7
leadership of Head Coach Benjy Parker, repeated history yet again 8
in 2025 with its continued demonstration of exceptional skill, 9
teamwork and determination throughout their incredible season, 10
bestowing a heightened level of distinction the college, its 11
student-athletes and the communities it serves across North 12
Mississippi; and 13
WHEREAS, the Rangers finished the season with an impressive 14
10-2 overall record, securing their 13th Mississippi Association 15
of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) championship title and 16
the team's second consecutive championship and fourth state title 17
in the past six seasons; and 18

WHEREAS, Northwest finished the season ranked among the top 19
teams in the final National Junior College Athletic Association 20
(NJCAA) Division I Football Poll, marking the tenth time in the 21
last 11 seasons that the Rangers have finished with a national 22
ranking; and 23
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Head Coach Benjy Parker, the 24
Rangers earned a share of the MACCC North Division title, advanced 25
through region 23 post-season play, and secured a berth in the 26
NJCAA Division I National Semifinals, before earning a hard fought 27
bid to the NJCAA Division I Football Playoffs for the fourth time 28
in the last five seasons, showcasing the team's continued 29
excellence on a national level; and 30
WHEREAS, Coach Parker was named Region 23 Coach of the Year, 31
reflecting his leadership, integrity and sustained excellence, 32
further solidifying his place as one of the most successful 33
coaches in Northwest history while guiding the Rangers football 34
program both on and off the field; and 35
WHEREAS, the Rangers distinguished themselves as one of the 36
premier defensive teams in the nation, leading the NJCAA in 37
rushing defense, recording multiple shutouts during the season, 38
and consistently demonstrating discipline, toughness and teamwork; 39
and 40
WHEREAS, numerous members of the Rangers football program 41
earned conference, regional and national honors throughout the 42

season, further highlighting the program's commitment to athletic 43
excellence and student achievement; and 44
WHEREAS, the success of the Rangers football team reflects 45
the strong support of Northwest Mississippi Community College's 46
administration, faculty, staff, athletic trainers, academic 47
advisors and support personnel, as well as the encouragement of 48
alumni, families and fans across the college's eleven-county 49
service district; and 50
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Northwest Mississippi 51
Community College Rangers football team exemplify the mission of 52
Mississippi's community colleges by promoting academic success, 53
leadership development, sportsmanship and pride in public higher 54
education; and 55
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize 56
and honor the achievements of student-athletes such as the 57
Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers Football Team, who 58
have brought honor to their college, community and the entire 59
State of Mississippi: 60
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 61
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING 62
THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Northwest 63
Mississippi Community College Rangers Football Team and Head Coach 64
Benjy Parker for their outstanding performance during the 2025 65
season, including their MACCC Championship victory, and extend 66
