A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE 2026 REGULAR SESSION OF 1
THE LEGISLATURE; TO PROVIDE THAT THE HOUSE AND SENATE EACH SHALL 2
RECONVENE ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2026, UNLESS THE SPEAKER AND 3
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR JOINTLY DETERMINE THAT IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO 4
RECONVENE; AND TO SET THE DATE OF SINE DIE ADJOURNMENT OF THE 2026 5
REGULAR SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2026. 6
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE 7
OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That the 2026 8
Regular Session of the Legislature is extended for a period of 9
thirty (30) days from the final day of the ninety (90) calendar 10
days of the 2026 Regular Session of the Legislature, under the 11
provisions of Section 36, Mississippi Constitution of 1890. 12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the House and Senate each shall 13
reconvene at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, unless the 14
Speaker of the House and the Lieutenant Governor jointly determine 15
that it is not necessary to reconvene, in which case the House and 16
Senate shall not reconvene on that date. 17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the 2026 Regular Session of the 18
Legislature will stand adjourned Sine Die at 11:59 p.m. on 19
Wednesday, April 15, 2026. 20
