HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 101
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ELI EDMONDSON OF 1
VARDAMAN ATTENDANCE CENTER UPON CAPTURING THE 2025 MISSISSIPPI 2
HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 1A INDIVIDUAL 3
STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP. 4
WHEREAS, Eli Edmondson, a talented and gifted junior who 5
attends Vardaman Attendance Center, is being celebrated and 6
honored upon winning the 2025 Mississippi High School Activities 7
Association (MHSAA) Class 1A Individual State Golf Championship; 8
and 9
WHEREAS, on October 31, 2025, at Hillandale in Corinth, 10
Mississippi, Eli won his first state golf title shooting a dynamic 11
two-day total of 140, two under par; and 12
WHEREAS, this magnificent win was solidified after Eli held a 13
four-stroke lead entering day two due to his aggressive playing 14
style that he normally executes; and 15
WHEREAS, although Eli earned top honors, he also helped his 16
team to a state runner-up finish, which is a testament of the 17
overall talent of the Vardaman Rams; and 18

ST: Eli Edmondson; commend upon capturing the
2025 MHSAA Class 1A Individual State Golf
Championship.
WHEREAS, as one who always looks to improve his performance, 19
Eli took his win in stride and is motivated to build on his 20
success as an individual state champion as he continues to work 21
hard on his golf game through diligence and dedication; and 22
WHEREAS, Eli has developed a winning and cooperative spirit 23
and a high degree of sportsmanship and his activities and attitude 24
reflect great credit upon his parents, teammates and coaches and 25
brings great honor to Vardaman Attendance Center and Calhoun 26
County, Mississippi, as a whole; and 27
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 28
recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the 29
youth of our state, such as Eli, who are its future: 30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 31
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 32
commend and congratulate Eli Edmondson upon winning the 2025 MHSAA 33
Class 1A Individual State Championship and for displaying tireless 34
devotion to his athletic endeavors, and wish him continued success 35
both on and off the golf course. 36
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 37
furnished to Eli Edmondson, the Vardaman Attendance Center Golf 38
Coaches on behalf of the golf team as well as Vardaman Attendance 39
Center Principal Lucas Ferguson and to the members of the Capitol 40
Press Corps. 41
