HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 102
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MADISON 1
RIDGELAND ACADEMY LADY PATRIOTS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM UPON WINNING 2
THE 2026 MIDSOUTH ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (MAIS) STATE 3
BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. 4
WHEREAS, the Madison Ridgeland Academy Lady Patriots Girls 5
Basketball Team reigned supreme against Simpson Academy with a 6
score of 37-25, capturing the 2026 Midsouth Association of 7
Independent Schools (MAIS) State Basketball Championship; and 8
WHEREAS, throughout their season, the Lady Patriots played 9
with clear eyes, full hearts and unimaginable amounts of 10
fortitude, and during the state championship game, their mental 11
stamina and athletic prowess never wavered from the moment they 12
first hustled onto the court until the final buzzer buzzed, as 13
they outlasted, outplayed and ultimately overpowered Simpson 14
Academy; and 15
WHEREAS, during the championship game, the Lady Patriots 16
relied on their swift feet, accurate shooting and strategic 17
defensive moves to stop the opposing offense and outmaneuver their 18

defense, which allowed them to bring the coveted gold ball trophy 19
to the Lady Patriots' trophy case; and 20
WHEREAS, the Lady Patriots finished the season with a 33-5 21
record, along with a MAIS 4A Division II State Championship and 22
MAIS Overall State Championship; and 23
WHEREAS, the Lady Patriots have been superbly coached and 24
inspired by Head Coach Stephen Force, who has broadened the 25
players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in 26
execution, and he continues to build upon the legacy of superior 27
play and true sportsmanship forged by the tenacious and undaunted 28
spirit of each team member; and 29
WHEREAS, the members of this team will carry the 30
unforgettable memories they made along their way to championship 31
status, whether it be the long hours in the weight room or the 32
grueling practices, as well as the lessons of hard work, 33
dedication and perseverance learned during this amazing season, 34
throughout their lives as they are constantly flooded with the 35
feeling of greatness that accompanies being a champion; and 36
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 37
recognize and commend excellence, especially that displayed by the 38
Lady Patriots, and it is with great pride that we congratulate 39
this elite group of student-athletes who have brought honor to 40
Madison Ridgeland Academy and to the State of Mississippi: 41
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 42
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 43

commend and congratulate the Madison Ridgeland Academy Lady 44
Patriots Girls Basketball Team upon winning the 2026 Midsouth 45
Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) State Basketball 46
Championship, and extend best wishes to the team and coaches for 47
continued success in all their future endeavors. 48
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 49
furnished to the Madison Ridgeland Academy Lady Patriots Girls 50
Basketball Team and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps. 51
