HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 11
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE REIMAGINE PREP 1
LIONS FOOTBALL TEAM AND COACH JAMYE HORTON UPON WINNING THE 2024 2
AND 2025 LITTLE SWAC FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND FOR THEIR 3
OUTSTANDING AND MEMORABLE SEASONS. 4
WHEREAS, the Reimagine Prep Lions Football Team captured the 5
2024 and 2025 Little SWAC Football Championships due to their 6
demonstrated expectational athletic ability, dedication, 7
discipline and team work throughout their back-to-back winning 8
seasons; and 9
WHEREAS, under the incomparable leadership of Coach Jamye 10
Horton, the Lions have continued to grow in skill, sportsmanship, 11
character, and academic excellence, and as a result, they 12
represent their school and community with great pride and 13
integrity; and 14
WHEREAS, through hard work, sacrifice and commitment to 15
excellence, the Reimagine Prep Football Team achieved the 16
outstanding honor of becoming Little SWAC Foot Champions in 2024; 17
and 18

WHEREAS, this inspirational team maintained its momentum and 19
competitive spirit and secured a second consecutive title as 20
Little SWAC Football Champions in 2025 - accomplishing remarkable 21
back-to-back championship victories; and 22
WHEREAS, these back-to-back championship victories are a true 23
testament not only to their athletic skill, but to their 24
leadership, perseverance, unity, and the belief that success is 25
earned through effort, preparation and teamwork; and 26
WHEREAS, additionally, Coach Jamye Horton has exemplified 27
what it means to be a mentor, educator and leader by instilling 28
confidence, responsibility, sportsmanship and character both on 29
and off the football field; and 30
WHEREAS, the Reimagine Prep Football Team has brought great 31
honor to its school, families and community and as such, they 32
continue to inspire others to dream big, work hard and strive for 33
excellence; and 34
WHEREAS, the Lions have developed a winning and cooperative 35
spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities 36
and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and 37
Coach Horton and bring honor to Reimagine Prep; and 38
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 39
recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the 40
youth of our state, such as the Reimagine Prep Lions Football 41
Team, who are its future: 42

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 43
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 44
commend and congratulate the Reimagine Prep Football Team and 45
Coach Jamye Horton for their winning back-to-back Little SWAC 46
Football Championships for 2024 and 2025 and for displaying 47
tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors. 48
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 49
furnished to Reimagine Prep, Coach Jamye Horton and to the members 50
of the Capitol Press Corps. 51
