HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 127
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE KOSSUTH HIGH 1
SCHOOL AGGIES CHEERLEADING TEAM AND CHEER COACH BAYLEE CONNELL ON 2
WINNING THE UNIVERSAL CHEERLEADERS ASSOCIATION (UCA) NATIONAL HIGH 3
SCHOOL LARGE NON-TUMBLING GAME DAY DIVISION AND SMALL NON-TUMBLING 4
INTERMEDIATE TRADITIONAL DIVISION CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIPS. 5
WHEREAS, in early February 2026, with extraordinary 6
performances that will surely go down in school history, the 7
Kossuth High School Aggies Cheerleading Team reigned supreme when 8
the cheerleaders were named the 2026 Universal Cheerleading 9
Association (UCA) National High School Cheerleading Champions in 10
the Large Non-Tumbling Game Day Division and Small Non-Tumbling 11
Intermediate Traditional Division at Walt Disney World Resort; and 12
WHEREAS, the Aggies' capturing the national title in not only 13
one, but two, divisions at the UCA Championship solidified the 14
Kossuth High cheerleading program's impeccable reputation in the 15
State of Mississippi as one consistently delivering energy, 16
excitement and school spirit to the crowds; and 17
WHEREAS, before their outstanding showing in Orlando, the 18
Aggies Cheer Team unbelievably brought home a fifth consecutive 19

state title in the Mississippi High School Activities Association 20
(MHSAA) State Cheerleading Championship in the 3A Game Day 21
Division in December; and 22
WHEREAS, with the Kossuth High School cheerleaders now having 23
been the MHSAA 3A Game Day Division State Champions in six of the 24
past seven years - 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, the 25
squad's incomparable dominance clearly exemplifies the high 26
standards the cheerleaders have constantly maintained, regardless 27
of the individual members who have comprised the team, over the 28
years; and 29
WHEREAS, the Aggies Cheerleading Squad has developed 30
unparalleled teamwork and a spirit of trust in each other, making 31
their precise movements appear effortless time after time as the 32
athletically fit members of the team safely perform complex 33
routines as a single, cohesive unit; and 34
WHEREAS, the exceptional accomplishments of the Kossuth High 35
School cheerleaders would not be possible without the tireless 36
intensive training, positive attitudes and enthusiasm of each of 37
the following talented student-athletes who comprise the 2025-2026 38
cheerleading squad: Katie Avant, Marlee Beckham, Mary Ellis 39
Johnson, Rochelle Dodds, Aniston Joyner, Libby Hammock, AnnaBelle 40
Hatcher, Makenzie Hastings, Brookhlyn Hodum, Alana Lewis, Arabella 41
Mares, Jacey Meeks, Kyleigh Mitchell, Marli Mills, Oakli Rickman, 42
Carleigh Robinson, Katie Beth Shelton, Mana Smith, Relynn Spencer, 43
Miley Taylor, Mallory Thrasher and Lacey Waggoner; and 44

ST: Kossuth High School Cheerleading Team;
commend on winning UCA National High School
Cheerleading Championship in two divisions.
WHEREAS, the cheerleaders have been superbly coached and 45
inspired by Cheer Coach Baylee Connell and Choreographer Joseph 46
Arkansas, who together have combined their considerable talents 47
and years of experience to refine the squad's skills and precision 48
in execution; and 49
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 50
recognize and honor the achievements of outstanding 51
student-athletes such as the Kossuth High School Aggies 52
Cheerleaders, who have brought honor to their families, school, 53
the City of Corinth and the entire State of Mississippi: 54
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 55
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 56
commend and congratulate the Kossuth High School Aggies 57
Cheerleading Team and Cheer Coach Baylee Connell on winning the 58
2026 Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) National High School 59
Cheerleading Championships in the Large Non-Tumbling Game Day 60
Division and Small Non-Tumbling Intermediate Traditional Division 61
and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future 62
athletic and academic endeavors. 63
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 64
furnished to Cheer Coach Baylee Connell on behalf of the Kossuth 65
High School Aggies Cheerleading Team and to the members of the 66
Capitol Press Corps. 67
