HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 140
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND EXPRESSING GRATITUDE TO DR. LORI 1
HILL MARSHALL, MD, FASA, FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE 2
FIELD OF HEALTHCARE AND TO HER COMMUNITY. 3
WHEREAS, Dr. Lori Hill Marshall, MD, FASA, is an esteemed 4
Mississippi physician who is known throughout the state and beyond 5
for the immeasurable contributions she is making not only as a 6
highly respected anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine 7
specialist, but as a passionate philanthropist, transformational 8
leader and trailblazing woman committed to making a difference in 9
the lives of others; and 10
WHEREAS, a proud native of the Magnolia State, Dr. Marshall 11
exhibited academic excellence and leadership from an early age, 12
graduating as valedictorian from Madison Central High School, 13
where she was selected for membership in the school's Hall of 14
Fame, before attending the University of Southern Mississippi and 15
being inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi; and 16
WHEREAS, after graduating from USM, Dr. Marshall continued 17
her education at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, 18

where her outstanding academic performance and clinical acumen 19
earned her several prestigious honors, including the Don Q. 20
Mitchell Barksdale Scholarship for academic excellence, the 21
Leonard Fabian Award for excellence in Anesthesiology, and the 22
Neuroscience Critical Care Award; and 23
WHEREAS, Dr. Marshall remained at UMMC after completing her 24
medical degree and did her residency in Anesthesiology, serving as 25
Chief Resident during her CA-3 year, before furthering her 26
training by completing a fellowship in Interventional Pain 27
Medicine; and 28
WHEREAS, since 2012, Dr. Marshall, board-certified as an 29
anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist, has served as 30
President, CEO and Medical Director of Premier Pain Care, P.C., 31
and today she also serves as the Chief of Anesthesiology at 32
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Olive Branch and North Memphis 33
Hospitals; and 34
WHEREAS, believing that she can help make a greater impact 35
and achieve more success for the common good when working 36
collaboratively with others, Dr. Marshall actively serves in 37
leadership roles on numerous professional organizations, 38
including: Vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi 39
State Medical Association; Director of the Mississippi Society of 40
Anesthesiologists; and member of the Board of Directors of the 41
American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), where she has served 42
on various committees such as the Committee on Economics, 43

Committee on Practice Management, Committee on Professional 44
Development, Committee on Membership and the Section on Fiscal 45
Affairs; and 46
WHEREAS, in addition to championing healthcare issues, Dr. 47
Marshall works tirelessly through noteworthy civic organizations 48
to better her community, including as: Vice President and 49
Membership Chair of the LeFleur's Bluff Chapter of the Links, 50
Inc.; Immediate Past President of the Jackson Chapter of Jack and 51
Jill of America, Inc.; life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, 52
Inc.; and longstanding member of the Junior League of Jackson, 53
where she has served as the 2020 Mistletoe Marketplace Chair, 2019 54
Connecting Communities Co-chair, Bargain Boutique Acquisitions 55
Chair, Junior League of Jackson Publications Office Manager, 2015 56
Mistletoe Marketplace Staging Chair, and Nominating Committee 57
member; and 58
WHEREAS, in recognition of her "interminable quest to be a 59
constructive force for sustainable and determinative change," Dr. 60
Marshall was honored to be named a laureate of the Class of 2025 61
Women of Distinction, a national Girl Scout program that 62
celebrates the achievements of women whose personal and 63
professional accomplishments make them positive role models who 64
inspire girls to achieve their goals and dreams, exemplifying 65
ethical leadership and community service; and 66
WHEREAS, the Mississippi State Medical Association also 67
celebrated Dr. Marshall during the September 2025 Women in 68

Medicine Month, honoring her dedication to advancing care, 69
empowering physicians and strengthening medicine in Mississippi; 70
and 71
WHEREAS, whether by training, mentoring or inspiring the next 72
generation of physicians, working toward solutions to healthcare 73
issues affecting all populations, especially the underrepresented, 74
marginalized, disadvantaged and rural populations, or generously 75
volunteering her time and resources to spearhead projects aimed at 76
bettering her fellows, Dr. Marshall has been a trailblazer every 77
step of the way whose presence in the medical profession and many 78
organizations reflects a career and life built on service to 79
others, excellence and advocacy; and 80
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 81
commend outstanding Mississippians such as Dr. Lori Hill Marshall, 82
MD, FASA, a woman of courage, confidence and character who has 83
selflessly devoted her entire life to making the world a better 84
place everyday: 85
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 86
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 87
commend Dr. Lori Hill Marshall, MD, FASA, on her remarkable 88
medical career and express heartfelt gratitude to her for 89
outstanding contributions in the field of healthcare and to her 90
community. FURTHER, we do hereby extend sincere wishes for 91
continued success in all her future endeavors. 92
