- A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE WALNUT HIGH SCHOOL 1
LADY WILDCATS SOCCER TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL 2
ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 2A SOCCER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. 3
WHEREAS, the Walnut High School Lady Wildcats Soccer Team 4
reigned supreme against the Lake High School Hornets to win the 5
Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A 6
Soccer State Championship; and 7
WHEREAS, playing with clear eyes, full hearts and 8
unimaginable amounts of strength, the Lady Wildcats Soccer Team 9
outlasted, outplayed and ultimately overpowered Lake High School; 10
and 11
WHEREAS, throughout their season of play, the Lady Wildcats, 12
who are bursting with wit and athleticism, faced off with some of 13
the state's best contenders on the pitch, but persevered to make 14
their presence and talent known as the gladiators and invincible 15
champions of MHSAA girls' soccer; and 16

WHEREAS, the Lady Wildcats' statistics were impressive, but 17
the key to this team's consistent success has been the constant 18
team atmosphere and year-round hard work by each team member; and 19
WHEREAS, the Lady Wildcats have been superbly coached and 20
inspired by Head Coach Kelley Hopper, who had broadened the team's 21
knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and 22
WHEREAS, Coach Hopper continues to build upon the legacy of 23
superior play and true sportsmanship forged by the tenacious and 24
undaunted spirit of each team member, as evidenced in her ability 25
to produce high caliber players and plays and the team's 26
successful season; and 27
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 28
recognize and commend the superb accomplishments of Mississippi 29
student-athletes, especially those such as the Walnut High School 30
Lady Wildcats Soccer Team, whose excellence on the field and in 31
the classroom brings honor to their school, their community and 32
the State of Mississippi: 33
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 34
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 35
commend and congratulate the Walnut High School Lady Wildcats 36
Soccer Team and Head Coach Kelley Hopper upon winning the 37
Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A 38
Girls Soccer State Championship and extend best wishes to the team 39
and coaches for continued success in all their future athletic and 40
academic endeavors. 41
