HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 158
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. DARRYAL 1
WOOLDRIDGE UPON BEING NAMED THE MISSISSIPPI TRUCKING ASSOCIATION'S 2
2025 DRIVER OF THE YEAR. 3
WHEREAS, Mr. Darryal Wooldridge, a resident of Marietta, 4
Mississippi, who is employed by FedEx Corporate, is being honored 5
and celebrated upon his being named the Mississippi Trucking 6
Association's 2025 Driver of the Year; and 7
WHEREAS, a renowned veteran truck driver with 30 years of 8
experience in the trucking industry with over 5.1733 million miles 9
logged, Mr. Wooldridge was selected for this prestigious award due 10
to his exceptional safety record, professionalism and selfless 11
community service; and 12
WHEREAS, Mr. Wooldridge, in addition to making contributions 13
to FedEx Corporate by transporting much needed commerce, is a 14
Christian and member of Friendship Baptist Church in his hometown 15
of Mantachie, Mississippi; and 16
WHEREAS, as one who treasures giving back to his beloved 17
community, Mr. Wooldridge currently serves as the Mantachie 18

Assistant Fire Chief, and he has been a volunteer firefighter and 19
emergency medical responder for 35 years, which is a testament of 20
his servant leader spirit; and 21
WHEREAS, additionally, when natural disasters strike, Mr. 22
Wooldridge works alongside FEMA by coordinating the delivery of 23
goods and services to those affected by natural disasters, which 24
is crucial in assisting those that are in need; and 25
WHEREAS, Mr. Wooldridge also volunteers in his community for 26
the local EMT Care & Flight Center, where he assists with 27
accidents that require Life Flight Helicopter transportation from 28
the scene of an accident; and 29
WHEREAS, as a supporter of youth, Mr. Wooldridge volunteers 30
for the "Pay It Forward" program, at local schools, where he 31
serves as a mentor and role model while helping young people with 32
their peewee and high school football endeavors; and 33
WHEREAS, Mr. Wooldridge is no stranger to accolades and 34
recognition from his community and peers as he has received 35
several awards as he remains distinguished in all of the roles he 36
fulfills by being consistent and paying attention to details in 37
operating safely in everything he does, and he lives by the motto 38
of that no matter what his job is - safety is his top priority as 39
he always strives to be the best in all he does; and 40
WHEREAS, Mr. Wooldridge exemplifies the image of the true 41
driving professional with his commitment to public safety, his 42
commitment to helping those in need and with a steadfast 43

commitment to bettering his community and bettering the State of 44
Mississippi as a whole stands as an undeniable hallmark that is 45
etched in all that he accomplishes; and 46
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 47
honor and pay tribute to a selfless Mississippian such as Mr. 48
Wooldridge whose ability to serve others as a role model for other 49
truck drivers as well as other community servants across the 50
Magnolia State and beyond is truly invaluable: 51
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 52
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 53
commend and congratulate Mr. Darryal Wooldridge upon being named 54
the Mississippi Trucking Association's 2025 Driver of the Year, 55
and express sincere gratitude for his hard work and commitment to 56
safety as well as continued success in all his future endeavors. 57
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 58
furnished to Mr. Darryal Wooldridge, the president of the 59
Mississippi Trucking Association, Inc., Mr. Hal Miller, and to the 60
members of the Capitol Press Corps. 61
