HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 160
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MR. LIMEUL EUBANKS 1
FOR BEING NAMED AS THE 2026 SOUTHEASTERN REGION SUPERVISION AND 2
ADMINISTRATION ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR. 3
WHEREAS, Mr. Limeul Eubanks was named the 2026 Southeastern 4
Region Supervision and Administration Art Educator of the Year at 5
the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Awards Ceremony on 6
March 6, 2026, a truly outstanding achievement; and 7
WHEREAS, Mr. Eubanks serves as the Director of PreK-12 Arts 8
at the Mississippi Department of Education, where he oversees 9
programs in dance, media arts, music, theatre, visual arts, world 10
languages and the Mississippi Seal of Biliteracy; and 11
WHEREAS, as a visual artist and a seasoned art educator, Mr. 12
Eubanks holds a master of fine arts degree with a focus on both 13
two-dimensional and three-dimensional art, a master of education 14
degree in mild/moderate special education with specializations in 15
art education and gifted and talented education, as well as a 16
bachelor of arts degree with concentrations in ceramics, painting, 17
dramatic arts, and communications, and he also has extensive 18

training in various art mediums and forms and possesses valuable 19
teaching experience in arts integration, ranging from Pre-K 20
through college levels; and 21
WHEREAS, the Southeastern Region Supervision and 22
Administration Art Educator of the Year award honors one 23
outstanding NAEA member from each of the divisions within each of 24
the four regions: Eastern Region, Pacific, Southeastern Region 25
and Western Region, and this award recognizes exemplary service 26
and achievement of regional significance within each division; and 27
WHEREAS, the Southeastern Region includes: Alabama, Florida, 28
Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto 29
Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and the U.S. Virgin 30
Islands; and 31
WHEREAS, art educator, Renna Moore-Edwards, stated, "From the 32
first course I took with him, Limeul set a standard for what 33
inspired teaching could look like. His approach to teaching future 34
art educators went far beyond lesson plans. Limeul demonstrated 35
how to nurture curiosity, confidence, and artistic voice in every 36
student. Those lessons continue to influence the way I teach 37
today. Years later, when I began working under his supervision as 38
a class art teacher, I recognized how he challenged educators to 39
think deeply about their practice while always making them feel 40
valued and supported."; and 41
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 42
honor extraordinary Mississippi educators, especially those such 43

as Mr. Eubanks, whose dedication and service brings honor to the 44
State of Mississippi: 45
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 46
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 47
recognize and commend Mr. Limeul Eubanks for being named the 2026 48
Southeastern Region Supervision and Administration Art Educator of 49
the Year, and extend best wishes for continued success in all his 50
future endeavors. 51
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 52
furnished to Mr. Limeul Eubanks and to the members of the Capitol 53
Press Corps. 54
