HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 161

A RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF DEDICATED CRITICAL CARE 1
MASTER PARAMEDIC JAKOB EDWARD KINDT WHO LOST HIS LIFE WHILE 2
SERVING OTHERS AND EXPRESSING GREAT APPRECIATION FOR HIS SERVICE 3
AND SADNESS UPON HIS DEATH. 4
WHEREAS, it is written in II Corinthians 4:17-18, "For our 5
light affliction, which is but for a moment, worked for us a far 6
more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at 7
the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: 8
for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which 9
are not seen are eternal," and as such, the immaculate author and 10
finisher of our souls' destiny summoned the mortal presence of 11
dearly beloved and well-admired first responder, Jakob Edward 12
Kindt, to rest eternally, as he made life's transition from 13
earthly travailing to Heavenly reward on March 10, 2025; and 14
WHEREAS, that fateful day, Jakob was serving others as a 15
critical care master paramedic when his helicopter crashed in 16
Madison County, Mississippi, along with two colleagues; and 17
WHEREAS, a gallant and dedicated first responder, Jakob was a 18
larger than life personality whose humility, devotion to God, his 19

family, the medical field and the health and welfare of his 20
fellowman will be his lasting legacies; and 21
WHEREAS, born in Tupelo on April 9, 1987, to Eddie Kindt and 22
Tina Shedd Kindt, he grew up in Mantachie, graduated from 23
Mantachie High School, and completed his associate's degree in 24
paramedic science at Itawamba Community College with a 4.0 grade 25
average while working full time at Lee County 911; and 26
WHEREAS, on December 15, 2012, he married the love of his 27
life, Emily Suzanne Hodges on December 15, 2012, and they shared 28
and loved two sons, Matthew and Luke; and 29
WHEREAS, Jakob was a man completely devoted to his 30
profession, and excelled in his work to the point of writing 31
manuals for recertification of paramedics; and 32
WHEREAS, his early training began at age 17 with the 33
Mantachie Fire Department and included supply service to other 34
area fire departments, and had many skills including running a 35
side business installing car windshields; and 36
WHEREAS, he spent the last several years working for the 37
University of Mississippi Medical Center Flight team Emergency 38
Response team based out of Columbus; and 39
WHEREAS, never afraid of hard work, Jakob was very self 40
driven and strong both physically and emotionally; and 41
WHEREAS, amongst all things, he was a man of faith and valor 42
who was an encourager and provider to his family, church and 43
profession, and he was also a servant leader as a member of Hope 44

Church in Tupelo, where he was instrumental in establishing and 45
teaching basic paramedics to the congregation; and 46
WHEREAS, an earnest believer in the power of prayer, Jakob 47
was a dedicated Bible and prayer warrior, who purchased Bibles and 48
Christian literature to give to those in need of spiritual 49
uplifting; and 50
WHEREAS, in his spare time, this avid Mississippi State fan, 51
enjoyed fishing with his sons, was a master cook known far and 52
wide for his skills in perfectly smoking meat; and 53
WHEREAS, while his earthly pilgrimage was cut short, he is 54
now and eternally receiving the rewards of his Christian faith 55
living in the celebration of "Well Done Good and Faithful 56
Servant!"; and 57
WHEREAS, to cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife, 58
two sons, parents, Eddie and Tina Kindt, his sister Molly, his 59
nieces, Olivia and Piper, and nephew, Chase Bumgardner, and a host 60
of other family, friends and relatives; and 61
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 62
honor the heroic action of this great Mississippian, as evidenced 63
by his life's work as a first responder and whose gift to this 64
state was the ultimate sacrifice of life in order to help and heal 65
others: 66
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 67
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 68
honor the gallant service and commend the personal sacrifice of 69
