A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE PARKLANE 1
ACADEMY PIONEERS FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH RON RUSHING ON 2
WINNING THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE MIDSOUTH ASSOCIATION OF 3
INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. 4
WHEREAS, on November 22, 2025, in a landslide victory that 5
will surely be remembered for years to come, the Parklane Academy 6
Football Team reigned supreme yet again when the unstoppable 7
Pioneers routed the Heritage Academy Patriots 42-0 to win the 8
Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Class 4A, 9
Division II, State Championship; and 10
WHEREAS, having brought home the MAIS Class 5A state title 11
just a year earlier, the 11-1 Pioneers solidified the team's 12
high-performing reputation as a continuously successful program 13
with their incredible back-to-back championship wins; and 14
WHEREAS, at the 2025 title matchup, Parklane's early burst of 15
explosive plays gave the Pioneers a comfortable 20-0 lead when the 16
halftime buzzer sounded, yet the squad remained relentless, more 17
than doubling the final score with 22 points added to the board in 18
the second half while the overpowering Pioneers' defense remained 19

unbearable and gave the Patriots not a single chance to prevent 20
the shutout; and 21
WHEREAS, in recognition of his phenomenal play for the 22
Pioneers in the championship game and throughout his senior year, 23
Arrocus "Roc" Baskin, Jr., was named the 2025 Y'all Sports 24
Offensive Lineman of the Year; and 25
WHEREAS, the team's overwhelming success in the 2025 26
championship game and throughout the season would not have been 27
possible without the endless training and hard work of each of the 28
following talented student-athletes who comprise the 2025 Pioneers 29

WHEREAS, the Parklane Academy Pioneers have been superbly 44
coached and motivated by Head Coach and Athletic Director Ron 45
Rushing and Assistant Coaches Robert Young, Ryan Bradford, Ken 46
Callendar, Austin Helus, Brinson Wall, Grayson Hewitt, Austin 47
Stults, Ryan Wallace and Henry Brewer, all of whom have broadened 48
the players' knowledge of the game while refining their skills in 49
execution; and 50
WHEREAS, the Pioneers' phenomenal achievement of winning the 51
MAIS State Championship in their class for a second consecutive 52
year is a testament to the steadfast support of Parklane Academy 53
Headmaster Jack Henderson, the Parklane family and the entire 54
McComb community, whose encouragement and unwavering support of 55
the team continue to inspire success on and off the field; and 56
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 57
recognize and honor the achievements of student-athletes such as 58
the 2025 Parklane Academy Pioneers Football Team, who have brought 59
honor to their families, school and community and the State of 60
Mississippi: 61
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 62
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 63
commend and congratulate the Parklane Academy Pioneers Football 64
Team and Head Coach Ron Rushing on winning the 2025 Midsouth 65
Association of Independent Schools State Football Championship and 66
extend best wishes for continued success in all their future 67
athletic and academic endeavors. 68
