HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 51
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE RALEIGH HIGH 1
SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL 2
ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 3A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. 3
WHEREAS, the Raleigh High School Football Team reigned 4
supreme at the Mississippi High School Activities Association 5
(MHSAA) Class 3A State Championship, a truly impressive feat; and 6
WHEREAS, on December 6, 2025, fans crowded Davis Wade Stadium 7
in Starkville, Mississippi, to watch the Lions showcase their 8
exemplary skill and tenacity on the field, and the team's 9
remarkable performance did not disappoint as they clinched the 10
championship title in a 12-6 victory over Noxubee County; and 11
WHEREAS, both of Raleigh's touchdowns were scored by senior 12
Jamarcus McCullum, and the quarterback and linebacker was 13
deservedly given the MVP title for the championship game; and 14
WHEREAS, rallied by the support of their fans and their 15
coaches, the Lions never waivered in determination and mental 16
stamina, and the team's impenetrable defense successfully stopped 17

Noxubee County on multiple pass attempts and rushes in the red 18
zone with four seconds remaining to secure the win; and 19
WHEREAS, the Lions have earned a reputation for greatness 20
over the last four years, and after winning their first state 21
championship in 2022, the team has continued to build on their 22
extraordinary efforts to achieve victory once again; and 23
WHEREAS, throughout the year, the Lions relied on their swift 24
feet, strategic maneuvering and athletic prowess to outlast and 25
outplay their opponents, closing the season with an outstanding 26
record of 14-1; and 27
WHEREAS, the Lions have ascended to the pinnacle of football 28
excellence this season thanks to the hard work and unmatched 29
spirit of the team's student-athletes: Brendan Harper, Deuce 30
Carter, Kentravis Page, Marquis Perkins, Jamarcus McCullum, Jaylin 31
Owens, Dariyun Moses, Damonta Keyes, Julian McCullum, Jordan 32
Williamson, Strick Strickland, Jabrinyt Clark, Tyler Jones, Kaden 33
Ashley, Brandon Laird, Mason Smith, Jordan Smith, Ollie Owens, 34
Davion Hicks, Royce Howze, Will Ethridge, D'travion Franks, Zyrian 35
Malone, Buck Fails, Jordan Ellis, Nick Morgan, Braylon Pace, Clyde 36
Jones, Jace Dixon, Noah Westbrook, Jaden Purvis, Zhaiden Malone, 37
JaMarion Owens, Kaleb Saterfiel, Kolten Risher, Jayden Wilbon, 38
Jalik Jones, Jeffery Allen, Brynn Boykin, Jason Page, Jerry 39
Harvey, Harlon Dove, Landon Allen and Will Higdon, with the 40
support of the team's managers: Hunter Watts, Ethan Watts, 41

Smith, Rylan Dearman, Jasper Barnes and Deon Fairley, as well as 43
the team's filmers, Holden Buffington and Kylen Smith; and 44
WHEREAS, this dynamic team has been superbly coached and 45
inspired by Head Coach Ryan Higdon and Assistant Coaches Jared 46
Smith, Larry Means, La-Dean Byrd and Ronald Smith, who have 47
broadened the players' knowledge of the sport and refined their 48
skills in execution; and 49
WHEREAS, the members of this team will surely carry the 50
unforgettable memories they have made, as well as the lessons of 51
teamwork, dedication and perseverance they have learned, 52
throughout their lives as they remember the feeling of 53
accomplishment that accompanies being a champion; and 54
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 55
recognize and commend Mississippi's talented student-athletes, 56
especially those such as the Raleigh High School Football Team, 57
and it is with great pride that we congratulate the members of 58
this elite team, who have brought honor and pride to their school, 59
their community and the State of Mississippi: 60
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 61
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 62
commend and congratulate the Raleigh High School Football Team 63
upon winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association 64
(MHSAA) Class 3A State Championship, and extend best wishes to the 65
team for continued success in all their future endeavors. 66
