HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 54
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING DAVID HOKE OF 1
UNDERSTANDING THE WORD MINISTRIES FOR DELIVERING BIBLES TO THE 2
MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE AND FOR HIS CONTINUED DEDICATION TO 3
SPREADING THE WORD OF GOD. 4
WHEREAS, born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. David 5
Hoke, of Understanding the Word Ministries, in 2020, was led by 6
the Holy Spirit to provide a Life Application Study Bible to all 7
who seek knowledge from the Bible, or thought it was impossible to 8
read and understand the Bible; and 9
WHEREAS, Mr. Hoke has been led to customize each Bible to the 10
individual, not only their name, but also things they are 11
passionate about, and make them who they are, and what started as 12
a small task quickly became a profound call from the Messiah to 13
expand our reach and share our gift with many more people around 14
the world; and 15
WHEREAS, during a church service in March 2024, Mr. Hoke was 16
giving a testimony about the calling, while presenting 2,000 17
Spanish Life Application Study Bibles for the Dominican Republic, 18
it caught the attention of one of his State Representatives' 19

wives, who reached out and asked if he wanted to provide a Bible 20
to every State Representative in Louisiana, and he was honored to 21
deliver them, and a light shined through the Louisiana State 22
Capitol like never before, and a month after receiving the Bibles, 23
Louisiana became the first state to vote to post The Ten 24
Commandments in every classroom across the state; and 25
WHEREAS, in May of 2024, Mr. Hoke was delivering some 26
additional Bibles to the State Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 27
and he received a revelation to provide a Bible to every State 28
Representative and State Senator across the United States of 29
America, as well as the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney 30
General, Secretary of State, and State Auditors, and he has 30 out 31
of the 50 States delivered as of now, and the remaining states 32
should be delivered by the end of June 2026; and 33
WHEREAS, as Mr. Hoke works towards distributing Life 34
Application Study Bibles to all State Senators and State 35
Representatives in the nation, his vision continues to grow, and 36
after reaching the organization's goal at the state level, he 37
plans to extend his efforts to the federal level, local city 38
levels, and other country leaders, ensuring that the Word of God 39
reaches even more influential leaders; and 40
WHEREAS, while focusing on this significant task, Mr. Hoke 41
remains committed to fulfilling the daily requests the 42
organization receives from individuals around the world, and to 43
date, they have provided over 30,000 Bibles to those in need in 44

Peru, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, Russia, 45
Honduras, the Philippines, South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, 46
Germany, and the United States, and are determined to continue 47
spreading the Word far and wide; and 48
WHEREAS, the organization's mission is not only to distribute 49
Life Application Study Bibles, it is to also fill the world with 50
the love and guidance of God through His Word, as well as to help 51
people understand it, and Mr. Hoke hopes that his efforts resonate 52
with the recipients and guide them on their journeys as leaders 53
and decision-makers; and 54
WHEREAS, outside of his outstanding service with 55
Understanding the Word Ministries, Mr. Hoke has been blessed with 56
two children: Sadie, 24, and Michael, 22, who both live in 57
Lafayette, Louisiana; and 58
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 59
recognize exceptional individuals, especially those such as Mr. 60
Hoke, whose dedication to his faith brings honor to the State of 61
Mississippi: 62
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 63
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 64
recognize and commend Mr. David Hoke of Understanding the Word 65
Ministries for delivering Bibles to the Mississippi Legislature, 66
and for his continued dedication to spreading the Word of God, and 67
extend best wishes for continued success in all his future 68
endeavors. 69

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 70
furnished to Mr. David Hoke and to the members of the Capitol 71
