A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE NEW ALBANY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS GOLF 1
TEAM AND HEAD COACH SHANE SANDERSON UPON WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI 2
HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS 4A 2025 STATE GOLF 3
CHAMPIONSHIP. 4
WHEREAS, the hardworking and dedicated student golfers on the 5
New Albany High School Boys Golf Team are now reigning state 6
champions since winning the Mississippi High School Activities 7
Association (MHSAA) Class 4A 2025 State Golf Championship; and 8
WHEREAS, the team led with a 12-10 Tournament Play, which 9
converted to 83-21, and with 11 qualifying teams, they fought to 10
edge out over Corinth with two strokes, Poplarville with three 11
strokes and Amory with six strokes; and 12
WHEREAS, impressive and hardworking seniors, Nick Little and 13
Hunter Henson were standouts with Nick Little ending as the 14
overall Silver Medalist with 77, 74 and senior Hunter Henson 15
ending as the overall Bronze Medalist with 72,80; and 16
WHEREAS, this talented and cohesive team consists of: Hunter 17
Henson, Nick Little, Cole Dean, Landon Evans, Aden Owen and Max 18

Bullock, and although Hunter and Nick are graduating seniors, most 19
of the team will remain intact; and 20
WHEREAS, the Bulldogs have been superbly coached and inspired 21
by Head Coach Shane Sanderson who has broadened the players' 22
knowledge of the game of golf and refined their skills in 23
execution; and 24
WHEREAS, the New Albany Bulldogs Golf Team has developed a 25
winning cooperative spirit with a high degree of sportsmanship, 26
and their positive and determined attitudes reflect great credit 27
upon their coach, the players and their parents which also create 28
immense honor and pride to New Albany High School; and 29
WHEREAS, it is most appropriate to recognize and commend 30
excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, 31
in particular, the Bulldog Golf Team, who are its future: 32
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 33
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 34
commend and congratulate the New Albany High School Boys Golf Team 35
and their amazing Coach Shane Sanderson for their extraordinary 36
season and upon winning the MHSAA Class 4A 2025 State Golf 37
Championship. 38
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 39
furnished to Coach Shane Sanderson and members of the Capitol 40
Press Corps. 41
