HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 71
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ADELINE BAILEY OF 1
NEW ALBANY ON WINNING HER THIRD MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES 2
ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) 3A-4A INDIVIDUAL STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP AND 3
HER EMERGING SUCCESS AS A JUNIOR GOLFER. 4
WHEREAS, Adeline Bailey, a phenomenal young golfer from New 5
Albany, Mississippi, has distinguished herself as a championship 6
player who is gaining ever-increasing recognition throughout the 7
state and beyond as she continues to climb in the rankings of 8
youth golf circuits and organizations with each new tournament 9
win; and 10
WHEREAS, while only a sophomore at New Albany High School, 11
Adeline has helped lead the New Albany Lady Bulldogs Golf Team, 12
coached by Shane Sanderson, to an extraordinary four consecutive 13
Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) State 14
Championships; and 15
WHEREAS, although the Lady Bulldogs fell short of the 2025 16
Class 3A-4A state title by a few strokes, Adeline, shooting 146 17
1-under at the two-date event held at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club 18
in Philadelphia, Mississippi, absolutely dominated the 19

championship, winning her third individual state title in just 20
four years and capturing the Overall MHSAA 3A-4A Medalist honors 21
at the state golf meet on October 21, 2025; and 22
WHEREAS, being at the top of the leaderboard is not uncommon 23
for Adeline, who has secured numerous victories in addition to her 24
three MHSAA 3A-4A individual championships, including her most 25
recent 2025 first finishes at the Towhee Club Open, the 26
Southeastern Junior Golf Tournament (SJGT) MSU Golf Course Junior 27
Classic, and the SJGT Reunion Junior Classic; and 28
WHEREAS, Adeline, undisputedly one of North Mississippi's 29
best golfers, has thrice been named to the Mississippi Association 30
of Coaches North All-Star Golfers and was named Most Valuable 31
Player at the 2025 All-Star Match after leading the North team to 32
victory, and she has also been selected as a top junior golfer to 33
participate in the Sanderson Farms Junior Pro-Am; and 34
WHEREAS, an accomplished multi-sport athlete who excels as a 35
cheerleader as well as on the soccer field, Adeline has been 36
honored locally to be named an A+ Athlete of the Week by WTVA and 37
voted the Daily Journal's Female Athlete of the Week; and 38
WHEREAS, Adeline's commitment to being her best is not 39
limited to athletic endeavors, as she maintains a 4.0 GPA while 40
wisely managing her various activities so that she can have time 41
for family and friends and participate in meaningful organizations 42
such as the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian 43
Athletes and her church's ACTEENS mission group; and 44

MHSAA 3A-4A Individual State Golf Championship
and emerging success.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 45
recognize and honor the accomplishments of talented 46
student-athletes such as Adeline Bailey, whose outstanding 47
achievements and continuous striving for improvement, whether on 48
the golf course, in the classroom or wherever she may be, bring 49
honor and pride to Adeline's family, school, the New Albany 50
community and the entire Magnolia State: 51
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 52
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 53
commend and congratulate Adeline Bailey of New Albany, 54
Mississippi, on winning her third Mississippi High School 55
Activities Association (MHSAA) 3A-4A Individual State Golf 56
Championship and her emerging success as a junior golfer and 57
extend best wishes for continued success in all her future 58
athletic and academic endeavors. 59
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 60
furnished to Adeline Bailey and to the members of the Capitol 61
Press Corps. 62
