HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 96
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MADISON 1
CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM AND HEAD COACH SETH MALE ON 2
WINNING THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL 3
ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 7A BOYS SOCCER STATE 4
CHAMPIONSHIP. 5
WHEREAS, on February 21, 2026, in a contest sure to be 6
remembered for years to come, the Madison Central High School Boys 7
Soccer Team reigned supreme yet again when the unstoppable Jaguars 8
defeated the Biloxi High School Indians two-nil in the 2026 9
Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 7A 10
Boys Soccer State Championship played in Ridgeland, Mississippi, 11
incredibly bringing home the gold ball a second year in a row; and 12
WHEREAS, having captured the state title just a year earlier, 13
the relentless Jaguars solidified the team's high-performing 14
reputation as a continuously successful program with their 15
incredible back-to-back championship wins, and the victory in the 16
championship match capped the unbeaten team's unbelievable season 17
with a phenomenal 21-0-2 record; and 18

WHEREAS, while neither the Jaguars nor the Indians were able 19
to get on the board in the first half of the championship, almost 20
immediately in the second half, Madison Central found the back of 21
the net on a goal from Carson Pentecost, which was followed by a 22
second goal on a header from Tanner Nichols in the last 15 minutes 23
of the match; and 24
WHEREAS, the Jaguars, described by Head Coach Seth Male as "a 25
super resilient team and group of guys," came into the season with 26
just one goal - to win a second consecutive 7A State Championship, 27
and the team was such a powerhouse, with a dominating defense as 28
their strength, that the squad gave up just five goals in 23 29
games; and 30
WHEREAS, throughout the season, the performance of all 31
members of the Jaguars Soccer Team was nothing less than 32
spectacular, and for his impressive play at the final match, 33
Carson Pentecost was named Most Valuable Player of the State 34
Championship; and 35
WHEREAS, Madison Central's extraordinary success would not 36
have been possible without each of the following talented 37
2025-2026 soccer players, particularly the strong senior class, 38
many of whom have been teammates for years, whose leadership in 39
the locker room and on the pitch is a testament to the positive 40
culture within the program: Carrier Kelly, Tanner Nichols, Keaton 41
Katzenmeyer, Ben Smith, Charlie Chambliss, Peyton Campbell, Walter 42
Dever, Alexander Barton, William Hawk, Ross Harden Beavers, Ethan 43

WHEREAS, the Madison Central High School Boys Soccer Team's 52
back-to-back championship wins will be remembered not just for the 53
state title, but for the standard set by the team built on mental 54
toughness and an unwavering commitment to excellence, as evidenced 55
by the squad's unparalleled spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship 56
and the year-round training and hard work of each and every 57
individual team member to be the best athlete he can possibly be; 58
and 59
WHEREAS, the Madison Central High School Jaguars Soccer Team 60
has been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Seth Male and 61
assistant coaches Brad Campbell and Simon Barinas, who have 62
broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their 63
skills in execution, and the team has been loyally supported and 64
encouraged with each challenging game, both on their home turf and 65
away, by team manager Bryce Greenhill, the school administration 66
and local community; and 67

on winning back-to-back state championships.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to 68
recognize and commend the superb accomplishments of Mississippi 69
student-athletes, especially those such as the Madison Central 70
High School Boys Soccer Team, whose excellence on the field and in 71
the classroom bring honor to their school, community and the 72
entire State of Mississippi: 73
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 74
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby 75
commend and congratulate the Madison Central High School Boys 76
Soccer Team and Head Coach Seth Male on winning the 2026 77
Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 7A 78
Boys Soccer State Championship and extend best wishes to the team 79
members and coaches for continued success in all their future 80
endeavors. 81
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 82
furnished to Head Coach Seth Male on behalf of the Madison Central 83
High School Boys Soccer Team and to the members of the Capitol 84
Press Corps. 85
