AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 25-15-7, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO 1
PROVIDE THAT THE STATE AND SCHOOL EMPLOYEES HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN 2
SHALL PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR PROSTHETIC TEETH AND PERMANENT DENTAL 3
IMPLANTS FOR CHILDREN WITH OLIGODONTIA; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. Section 25-15-7, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 6
amended as follows: 7
25-15-7. Such health insurance shall not include: 8
(a) Expense incurred by or on account of an individual 9
prior to July 1, 1972, as to him; 10
(b) Dental care and treatment, except dental surgery 11
and appliances to the extent necessary for the correction of 12
damage caused by accidental injury while covered by the plan, or 13
as a direct result of disease covered by the plan, and except 14
prosthetic teeth and permanent dental implants for children with 15
oligodontia; 16
(c) Eyeglasses, hearing aids for individuals over the 17
age of twenty-one (21) years, and examinations for the 18
prescription or fitting thereof; 19

(d) Cosmetic surgery or treatment, except to the extent 20
necessary for correction of damage by accidental injury while 21
covered by the plan or as a direct result of disease covered by 22
the plan; 23
(e) Services received in a hospital owned or operated 24
by the United States government for which no charge is made; 25
(f) Services received for injury or sickness due to war 26
or any act of war, whether declared or undeclared, which war or 27
act of war shall have occurred after July 1, 1972; 28
(g) Expense for which the individual is not required to 29
make payment; 30
(h) Expenses to the extent of benefits provided under 31
any employer group plan other than this plan, in which the state 32
participates in the cost thereof; and 33
(i) Such other expenses as may be excluded by 34
regulations of the board. 35
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 36
and after July 1, 2026. 37
