SENATE BILL NO. 2144

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TOWN OF ROLLING FORK 1
FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COSTS OF CERTAIN INFRASTRUCTURE 2
PROJECTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Town of Rolling Fork for 7
the purpose of defraying the costs of certain infrastructure 8
projects for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 9
ending June 30, 2027............................... $ 3,000,000.00. 10
SECTION 2. The funds appropriated under the provisions of 11
Section 1 of this act are authorized for the following purposes: 12
(a) To defray costs of improvements to the Emergency 13
Management services, including 911 and E911 services; 14
(b) To defray costs associated with improvements to or 15
replacement of roads, stormwater and sewage infrastructure; and 16
(c) To defray costs associated with the construction of 17
public facilities, including a police station. 18

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
