SENATE BILL NO. 2149

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO HUMPHREYS COUNTY FOR THE 1
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF A 2
COUNTY-WIDE EMERGENCY E911 SYSTEM, INCLUDING THE PURCHASE OF 3
ADDITIONAL SIRENS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Humphreys County for the 8
purpose of defraying costs associated with implementation of a 9
county-wide Emergency E911 System, including the purchase of 10
additional sirens for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 11
ending June 30, 2027................................. $ 383,000.00. 12
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 13
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 14
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 15
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 16
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 17
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 18

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 19
and after July 1, 2026. 20
