AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF 1
MISSISSIPPI MEDICAL CENTER FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING A FIRE 2
STATION WITH THE CITY OF JACKSON FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE 3
PRIMARY RESPONSE TO THE UMMC CAMPUS AND OTHER STATE PROPERTY FOR 4
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be 7
necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State 8
General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the University of 9
Mississippi Medical Center for the purpose of building a fire 10
station with the City of Jackson Fire Department to provide 11
primary response to the UMMC campus and other state property for 12
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending 13
June 30, 2027...................................... $10,000,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by 15
the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund to 16
the credit of the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, 17
upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer, and the State 18
Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed 19

by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided 20
by law. 21
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 22
and after July 1, 2026. 23
