SENATE BILL NO. 2182

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CANTON MUNICIPAL POLICE 1
DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2
ACQUISITION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT 3
TRAINING FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated to the Canton Municipal Police 8
Department for the purpose of defraying costs associated with the 9
acquisition of law enforcement equipment and law enforcement 10
training for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending 11
June 30, 2027........................................ $ 118,332.45 12
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 13
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the General Fund not 14
otherwise appropriated upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal 15
Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants 16
upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers 17
in the manner provided by law. 18

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 19
and after July 1, 2026. 20
