SENATE BILL NO. 2184
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF LEXINGTON, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COSTS ASSOCIATED 2
WITH CERTAIN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Lexington, 7
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying the costs associated 8
with certain infrastructure projects for the fiscal year beginning 9
July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027............. $ 1,750,000.00. 10
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated under Section 1, the 11
following amounts are to be allocated as follows: 12
To defray costs of paving, improving, 13
and resurfacing city streets, in 14
the downtown business district, 15
including Church Street, College 16
Street, Telegraph Street, Andrews 17
Street, North and South Vine 18

ST: General Fund; FY2027 appropriation to City
of Lexington for certain infrastructure
projects.
Street, and East and West China 19
Street.................................... $ 1,000,000.00 20
To defray costs of paving, improving, 21
resurfacing, and lighting the 22
parking lot for the City 23
Multipurpose Building....................... $ 750,000.00 24
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 25
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 26
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 27
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 28
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 29
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 30
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 31
and after July 1, 2026. 32
