SENATE BILL NO. 2437

AN ACT TO DEFINE "ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE"; AND FOR RELATED 1
PURPOSES. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 3
SECTION 1. "Artificial intelligence" means a machine-based 4
system that can, for a given set of human-defined objectives, make 5
predictions, recommendations or decisions influencing real or 6
virtual environments. Artificial intelligence systems use 7
machine- and human-based inputs to perceive real and virtual 8
environments; abstract such perceptions into models through 9
analysis in an automated manner; and use model inference to 10
formulate options for information or action. 11
SECTION 2. Section 1 of this act shall be codified in 12
Chapter 3, Title 1, Mississippi Code of 1972. 13
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 14
and after July 1, 2026. 15
