SENATE BILL NO. 2541

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE AND PURCHASE OF IVERMECTIN 1
SUITABLE FOR HUMAN USE WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION OR CONSULTATION WITH 2
A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. (1) As used in this section, "over-the-counter 5
medication" means medication that may be legally sold and 6
purchased without a prescription. 7
(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the 8
contrary, ivermectin suitable for human use may be sold or 9
purchased as an over-the-counter medication in this state without 10
a prescription or consultation with a health care professional. 11
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 12
and after July 1, 2026. 13
