AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 69-5-103, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, 1
TO ALLOW GREATER FLEXIBILITY REGARDING WHERE THE NORTHEAST 2
DISTRICT LIVESTOCK SHOW MAY BE HELD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. Section 69-5-103, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 5
amended as follows: 6
69-5-103. For the purposes of this article, the State of 7
Mississippi is hereby divided into five (5) livestock show 8
districts, as follows: 9
(a) The Northwest District, which shall embrace the 10
Counties of Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, 11
Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica and Yalobusha Counties. The 12
place for holding the livestock show shall be at Batesville, in 13
Panola County. 14
(b) The North Delta District, which shall embrace the 15
Counties of Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Holmes, Humphreys, 16
Issaquena, Leflore, Montgomery, Sharkey, Sunflower and Washington 17

Counties. The place for holding the livestock show shall be at 18
Greenwood, in Leflore County. 19
(c) The Northeast District, which shall embrace the 20
Counties of Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, 21
Itawamba, Lee, Lowndes, Monroe, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Pontotoc, 22
Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, Union, Webster and Winston. The 23
place for holding the livestock show shall be * * * within the 24
Northeast District. 25
(d) The Southwest District, which shall embrace the 26
Counties of Adams, Amite, Claiborne, Copiah, Franklin, Hinds, 27
Jefferson, Lawrence, Leake, Lincoln, Madison, Neshoba, Newton, 28
Pike, Rankin, Scott, Simpson, Smith, Walthall, Warren, Wilkinson 29
and Yazoo. The place for holding the livestock show shall be at 30
Jackson, in Hinds County. 31
(e) The Southeast District, which shall embrace the 32
Counties of Clarke, Covington, Forrest, George, Greene, Hancock, 33
Harrison, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lamar, 34
Lauderdale, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Stone and Wayne. The 35
place for holding the livestock show shall be at Hattiesburg, in 36
Forrest County. 37
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 38
and after July 1, 2026. This act shall stand repealed on June 30, 39
2028. 40
