SENATE BILL NO. 2766

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE FRIDAY BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY IS TO 1
BE DESIGNATED ANNUALLY AS "BUDDY POPPY DAY" IN MISSISSIPPI IN 2
HONOR OF THE OFFICIAL MEMORIAL FLOWER OF THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN 3
WARS (VFW); AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The Friday before Memorial Day of each year is 6
designated as "Buddy Poppy Day" in Mississippi to recognize the 7
official memorial flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 8
which honors fallen service members. 9
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 10
and after its passage. 11
