SENATE BILL NO. 2944

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO HARRISON COUNTY FOR THE 1
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT 2
FROM U.S. HIGHWAY 49 WEST TO THE INTERSECTION OF WEST WORTHAM 3
ROAD/ROBINWOOD DRIVE AND OLD HIGHWAY 49 INTERSECTION ALONG WEST 4
WORTHAM ROAD IN HARRISON COUNTY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Harrison County for the 9
purpose of defraying costs associated with corridor improvements 10
from U.S. Highway 49 west to the intersection of West Wortham 11
Road/Robinwood Drive and Old Highway 49 intersection along West 12
Wortham Road in Harrison County for the fiscal year beginning July 13
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. $ 6,900,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
