SENATE BILL NO. 2951

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE VFW POST 9832 FOR THE 1
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COSTS OF THE CONSTRUCTION, REPAIR AND/OR 2
RENOVATION OF CERTAIN INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the VFW Post 9832 in the City 7
of Jackson, Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying the costs of 8
the construction, repair and/or renovation of certain 9
infrastructure for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 10
ending June 30, 2027................................. $ 125,000.00. 11
SECTION 2. It is the intention of the Legislature that the 12
VFW Post 9832 expend the funds appropriated in Section 1 of this 13
act to assist in paying the costs associated with the renovations, 14
repairs and/or construction of certain infrastructure requirements 15
to the Post building and Post activities associated with the 16
requirements and accessibility plan of the Americans with 17
Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, Public Law 101-336. 18

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
