SENATE BILL NO. 2952

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF SALTILLO FOR 1
THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 2
NEW FIRE STATION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Saltillo, 7
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying expenses related to the 8
construction of a new fire station for the fiscal year beginning 9
July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027............... $ 750,000.00. 10
SECTION 2. It is the intent of the Legislature that any 11
unused funds appropriated in Section 1 of this act may, upon 12
completion of the new fire station, be used by the City of 13
Saltillo for improvements to its public athletic facilities. 14
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
