SENATE BILL NO. 2954

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF GENERAL FUNDS TO LEE COUNTY 1
TO DEFRAY EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RENOVATION OF THE POLLING 2
PRECINCT AT PRATTS COMMUNITY CENTER AND WITH THE IMPROVEMENT TO 3
PRATTS COMMUNITY CENTER PROPERTY, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Lee County, to defray expenses 8
associated with the renovation of the polling precinct at Pratts 9
Community Center and with the improvement to Pratts Community 10
Center property, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 11
ending June 30, 2027................................. $ 250,000.00. 12
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated in Section 1, the funds 13
must first be used to renovate the polling precinct. Any 14
remaining funds may be used for improvement to Pratts Community 15
Center property. 16
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 17
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 18
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 19

Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 20
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 21
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 22
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 23
and after July 1, 2026. 24
