SENATE BILL NO. 2979

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF BALDWYN, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
REFURBISHING OF A MUNICIPAL BUILDING, WHICH SERVES AS A FIRE 3
STATION AND A POLLING PRECINCT WITHIN THE CITY BORDERS OF BALDWYN 4
IN LEE COUNTY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Baldwyn, 9
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying costs associated with 10
refurbishing of a municipal building, which serves as a fire 11
station and a polling precinct within the city borders of Baldwyn 12
in Lee County for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and 13
ending June 30, 2027................................. $ 266,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
