SENATE BILL NO. 2996

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO WASHINGTON COUNTY FOR THE 1
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH UPGRADES, RENOVATIONS, 2
AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE KERMIT THE FROG MUSEUM FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 3
2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Washington County for the 8
purpose of defraying costs associated with upgrades, renovations, 9
and improvements to the Kermit the Frog Museum for the fiscal year 10
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027..... $ 300,000.00. 11
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 12
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 13
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 14
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 15
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 16
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 17
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 18
and after July 1, 2026. 19
