AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF SPECIAL FUNDS 1
FOR FISCAL YEARS 2026 AND 2027 TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE 2
OFFICE OF THE MISSISSIPPI BOARD OF MEDICAL LICENSURE; THE 3
MISSISSIPPI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY; DEPARTMENT OF CHILD 4
PROTECTION SERVICES; MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE; AND FOR 5
RELATED PURPOSES. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums herein 8
appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be 9
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury 10
to the credit of the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure and 11
allocated in a manner as determined by the Treasurer's Office, to 12
defray the expenses of the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure 13
for the period beginning upon passage of this act, and ending June 14
30, 2027......................................... $ 450,000.00. 15
This additional appropriation is for the purpose of defraying 16
expenses related to office relocation, furnishing, and rent 17
expenses. 18
SECTION 2. In addition to all other sums appropriated to the 19
agency, the following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, 20

is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the 21
credit of the Disaster Assistance Trust Fund not otherwise 22
appropriated, to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency for 23
the purposes of defraying expenses related to the state 24
obligations for disaster response and recovery, including the 25
severe weather event beginning on January 24, 2026, for the period 26
beginning upon passage of this act, and ending June 30, 2027 27
................................................. $ 20,000,000.00. 28
This additional appropriation is for the purpose of defraying 29
expenses of the agency related to the state obligations for 30
disaster response and recovery authorized under the Disaster 31
Assistance Trust Fund, including the severe weather event 32
beginning on January 24, 2026. 33
SECTION 3. In addition to all other sums herein 34
appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be 35
necessary, is appropriated out of any money to the credit of the 36
Capital Expense Fund and allocated in a manner as determined by 37
the Treasurer's Office, to defray the expenses of the Department 38
of Child Protection Services for the period beginning upon passage 39
of this act, and ending June 30, 2027............ $ 15,000,000.00. 40
This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of 41
defraying agency operational expenditures, including but not 42
limited to expenditures due to the increased number of children in 43
custody and in-home cases, out-of-state therapeutic placement 44

expenditures, temporary placement expenditures, foster board and 45
adoption subsidy expenditures. 46
SECTION 4. In addition to all other sums herein 47
appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be 48
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury 49
to the credit of the Mississippi Department of Insurance and 50
allocated in a manner as determined by the Treasurer's Office, to 51
defray the expenses of the Mississippi Department of Insurance for 52
the period beginning upon passage of this act, and ending June 30, 53
2027............................................. $ 12,000,000.00. 54
This additional appropriation is for the purpose of providing 55
nonadmitted policy fees to the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting 56
Association in accordance with Section 83-34-4, Mississippi Code 57
of 1972. 58
SECTION 5. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 59
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State Treasury to 60
the credit of the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act 61
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 62
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his 63
warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or 64
officers, in the manner provided by law. 65
SECTION 6. This act shall take effect and be in force from 66
and after passage. 67
