SENATE BILL NO. 3132

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF CHARLESTON, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COSTS ASSOCIATED 2
WITH CERTAIN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Charleston, 7
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying the costs associated 8
with certain infrastructure projects for the fiscal year beginning 9
July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.............. $ 1,337,086.00 10
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of 11
Section 1 of this act, the following amounts are to be allocated 12
as follows: 13
To defray costs of well 14
and water line 15
replacement................................. $ 537,086.00 16
To defray costs of repair and 17
resurfacing of certain 18

city roads.................................. $ 800,000.00 19
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 20
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 21
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 22
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 23
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 24
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 25
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 26
and after July 1, 2026. 27
